The Lucerne is offered in CX, CXL, EXL and Super models. All include a full list of standard equipment, with the CX model offers six-way passenger power seats, power heated outside mirrors; fob range-extended button and 17-inch aluminum wheels. Powering Lucerne CX, CXL and EXL model is, responsive to FlexFuel-capable 3.9L V6 engine. This gives a 227 horsepower SAE-certified and 237 lb.-ft. torque. Lucerne Super V8 Northstar engine powered by the 4.6L is rated at 292 horsepower and 288 lb.-ft. torque.

New Cars By. Buick Type Lucerne Super  Buick has revived the name of the storied past of the 20th century to mark the beginning of a new level of refinement: Super. The badge is designated exclusively for Buick's most premium, powerful models and returns to Buick vehicles after 50 years. It will debut in model year 2008 LaCrosse and Lucerne sedans.

"We're bringing back the Super badge to represent our most premium models," said Steve Shannon, Buick general manager. "Our Supers are not just about increased horsepower, they represent the heights in design, premium content and characteristics of an exclusive trip to the Super badge."

The Supers are engineered for Buick by the GM Performance Division to inspire performance on demand. LaCrosse Super is powered by a 300-horsepower (224 kW) 5.3L small-block V-8 with GM's Active Fuel Management technology. LaCrosse Super chassis has been sport-tuned to deliver responsive handling characteristics, and in maintaining the vehicle in Buick's famous silence.

Lucerne Super adds a more powerful version of the legendary 4.6L Northstar V-8. It is assessed at 292 horsepower (218 kW), an increase of more than 6 percent of existing models. Super has improved chassis with versions particularly looking forward to Lucerne 's Magnetic Ride Control system, to ride, smooth premium that simultaneously enables crisp, responsive handling.

Buick Super: power design, elevated and performance

Design elements on the LaCrosse Super and Lucerne Super show the new face of Buick. Design cues echo those seen in popular Velite convertible concept vehicle - and recently introduced on the Buick Enclave luxury crossover SUV - including the waterfall grille and portholes new. LaCrosse Super is the first and only LaCrosse model offered with Buick's iconic portholes, there are four per side to highlight V-8 engine.
